2024 Primary Election Candidate Endorsements by CAR

Posted May 29, 2024

the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) will announce General Assembly endorsements for Republican and Democratic Primary Elections on June 25th. The list of 14 endorsements by CAR’s Political Action Committee (CARPAC) includes eight Republicans and six Democrats, five of whom were approved by CARPAC as Friendly Incumbents for continuing endorsements.

For endorsements in the nine races without Friendly Incumbents, each candidate was thoroughly vetted in a process requiring them to complete a candidate questionnaire and a candidate interview with REALTORS® who serve on either CARPAC, the Legislative Policy Committee (LPC) or CAR’s Leadership Council. These interview panels recommended an endorsement position (or no endorsement) for the full 19-member CARPAC to consider with action approved at its May meeting.

There are far more than 14 Primary Election races across the state for General Assembly/legislative candidates, but we focused on these select races where the Primary winner will likely determine who will serve in the legislature for 2025 and 2026. In some races, candidates were evenly matched on our issues and CARPAC decided to not engage or endorse in those respective races.

We may not always be aligned on every issue, but the following candidates have communicated an aligned approach and shared values with our association and a commitment to solving our housing crisis while protecting private property rights.
